What is this project?

Open Prediction Markets is a public-good Web3 initiative building decentralized and transparent prediction market infrastructure.

Roadmap

Open & transparent

All core components will be open-source. Development progress and financial transparency will be shared publicly.

MVP Architecture (Planned)

The MVP is designed as a testnet-first prototype focused on research, education, and transparent forecasting mechanisms. The goal is to validate market lifecycle, resolution, and payout logic in an open-source and auditable way.

Scope

Components

Smart Contracts

  • MarketFactory — creates markets
  • PredictionMarket — participation & state
  • ResolutionModule — posts outcome
  • PayoutModule — calculates claims

Oracle & Disputes

  • MVP approach: manual/optimistic resolution
  • Transparency: public resolution reason & source
  • Dispute window: time to challenge outcome

Frontend Prototype

  • Market list + market page
  • Status: Open / Closed / Resolved
  • Simple participation flow (wallet)
  • Read-only mode is acceptable early

Documentation

  • Market lifecycle explained
  • Resolution process & limitations
  • Design decisions & trade-offs
  • Public updates & changelog
Public-good commitment: the MVP will be developed in the open and published as open-source, with auditable contracts and transparent documentation.

Project Status

Open Prediction Markets is currently in the research and MVP design phase. The project focuses on open experimentation, documentation, and transparent market design.

The initial MVP is planned as a testnet-only prototype intended for educational and research purposes. There is no production deployment and no expectation of financial returns.

This project is developed as an open-source public good, prioritizing transparency, collective intelligence, and responsible experimentation.
